AnDY Research Clinic in Oxford Health CAMHS

May 21, 2026

In less than two years since its launch, the AnDY (Anxiety and Depression in Young People) Research Clinic in Oxford has established itself as a reliable and clinically robust service within Oxford Health CAMHS. The clinic provides assessment and evidence-based psychological therapies for young people experiencing anxiety and depression, integrating research with everyday clinical practice.

High Levels of Engagement and Completion

Between December 2024 and November 2025, 269 referrals were accepted, exceeding expected levels. For over 80% of the young people referred, the service was suitable for them, indicating a strong alignment between referral criteria and clinic capacity. Of those offered treatment, 86% of young people completed their therapeutic interventions and outcomes were consistent with results seen at the established AnDY Clinic in Reading and with published evidence from clinical trials.

Building a Foundation for Research-Integrated Care

The clinic’s early months focused on structured setup, including clinician training, establishing safe referral pathways, and understanding the local CAMHS population. Close coordination with the Single Point of Access (SPA) and other CAMHS teams helped ensure that appropriate young people were referred for support. Throughout this period, the Oxford AnDY Clinic has maintained steady service delivery while continuing to offer comprehensive diagnostic assessments and evidence-based interventions and identified ways of further enhancing the clinical service and it’s ability to deliver on research objectives.

Next Steps

With a solid first year of operation, the clinic continues to contribute to Oxford Health’s strategy of integrating research, clinical care, and staff development. By monitoring outcomes and refining processes, the service aims to maintain high-quality care while expanding opportunities for learning and research within CAMHS. Going forward, they intend to strengthen their relationships with local schools to identify young people who would benefit from the service and could take part in research.

The clinical leadership team have said, “We’re incredibly proud of what the AnDY Research Clinic has achieved in such a short time, but none of this would have been possible without the support of colleagues across Oxford Health CAMHS. We’re hugely grateful for the commitment, care, and collaboration of everyone involved in helping us build a service that brings together research and compassionate clinical care for children and young people.”
