Checklist

Here are some key reminders of what you need to consider to make your project as inclusive, accessible, and engaging for parents and carers as possible:

  • Identify which group(s) of parents and carers you want to work with
  • Make your opportunity as inclusive and accessible as possible
  • Develop a plan of how to create a safe space
  • Offer payment and share the amount and payment method options
  • Put support in place for participants and yourself or the research team
  • Prepare a Plain English summary of your project and opportunity
  • Create and share an agenda/other information participants need in advance
  • Make and share plans with participants on how you will collect, use, and store their data in line with your project’s policies
  • Offer follow-up or a debrief after the opportunity
  • Share a feedback survey with participants
  • Plan when and how to follow up with participants about next steps, impact, and any publication plans.
