If your opportunity meets the criteria of the network it will move forward in the process and be advertised to network members.
We have a handy flowchart you can download with the process too.
1. The opportunity is hosted on our network’s online platform and shared via network newsletters until you complete recruiting
We send monthly newsletters to network members, via the Charlie Waller Trust
Please let us know if you close recruitment before the planned opportunity end-date (for example if at capacity) so we can stop advertising the opportunity.
2. Parents and carers from the network apply directly to your research team to get involved in the advertised opportunity
You should provide a mechanism for parents and carers to let you know they are signing up via the Parent Carer Research Network.
The research team is responsible for all data and the involvement of any parents and carers from the point they express interest to you.
3. Your research team needs to:
Acknowledge the network in communications and papers, including using the network logo in research outputs to show affiliation with the network.
Report back to the network about network member participation and impact via our Researcher Survey, and at the end of the research activity. This involves:
- inviting feedback from your parent and carer participants, alongside your own reflections as researchers.
- getting permission to share any feedback from participants with us.
4. We also would love your research team to:
Submit case studies about your project for us to share privately via our network members and/or publicly via the network website about the impact involving parents and carers in their project has had. Do make sure you get permission to share any feedback from participants with us.
And finally, to let the network team know how you found the experience of working with the network, anything you have learnt which would be useful to share with other researchers, and anything that could be improved or would help you in the future (e.g. resources).
